"Sunflower Brilliance" is inspired by the power of the color yellow, and right after reading about sunflowers created by Georgia O' Keeffe, Gustav Klimt (which resembles that of an evening gown) & Van Gogh's "12 potted Sunflowers" (ranging in different sizes and hues of yellows & oranges) I decided to create a "Kapone" version with different hues of yellow and gold holographic paper (which attracts and draws in sunlight)...The power that can be derived from the color yellow relates to the rational mind and clear thinking, associated with the left brain, as opposed to intuition and clairvoyance, associated with the right brain... After white, yellow is closest to the light of the sun not only in brightness and hue, but also in it's restorative effects. It is a good color to treat yourself with if you are feeling dull, particularly mentally as yellow is associated with the intellect, the left side of the brain, which is the logical side... Eating yellow foods can help to detoxify the system and eliminate waste products, while breathing in or visualizing yellow can help you to focus mentally, to concentrate on the task in hand and it will also stimulate the flow of ideas... Treatment and Healing with yellow can benefit the following physical conditions: constipation, flatulence, diabetes, skin problems, nervous exhaustion... Linked to the liver, intestines, & gall bladder, the network of nerves that radiate out from the solar plexus resembles the rays of the sun... Gold, or golden yellow, represents knowledge at it's highest level; the wisdom gained through the assimilation of experience. In the spiritual sense this is ultimately more precious than the gold jewellery that is so often a symbol of wealth, status, and privilege... When I hung the "Kapone" finished sunflowers up in my studio, it was always a thrill to have breakfast while watching them capture & radiate sunlight in the morning, & also when the sun is setting...Enjoy! :) |
