The world presents us with a welter of stimulation. There are more neural events, that is neural impulses, in your eyes in a fraction of a second than there are people in the world, in fact, more than all the people who ever lived. The visual system is tuned to pick up electromagnetic radiation in the narrow band that we call light, and millions of receptors on our retinas are in a constantly varying state of excitation. Those receptors respond differentially to different frequencies, and some receptors are specialized to respond to vertical and horizontal lines, angles, motion, and in this case "beauty".
The perceptual system works according to a set of rules that work extremely well most of the time; it has evolved in such a way that it makes instant judgments that are right, or at least highly adaptive, most of the time.
