An Artsy Statement
I've been drawing and sketching for a very long time now (dont know when I actually started) but I can tell you that I started studying graffiti art in 1994 (as a 9th grader). I became hooked ever since and I'm now building up a diverse knowledge of art techniques to eventually take my innovative style to new heights. Before the discovery of graffiti, I was illustrating and sketching still life objects, characters from comic books (which taught me about form and color theory) and structure's from the architecture books I would grab from my dad (hence the geometric style). I recently started painting with brushes in 2004 and now love working with acrylics and multimedia.

Every artist has his or her own style and like they say
"To each his own"
And so I illustrate and paint whatever catches my eye or whatever I'm feeling at the moment.

About My Artworks
My works, I will describe as "innovative abstract" (leaning towards form)... I tend to look at things differently than most people, I combine all my styles by channeling everything I've learned and picked up as a kid growing up... My "geometric style" is derived from studying architecture in books, measuring and then illustrating them on paper... I would measure the sides of the buildings with a ruler (down to the inches) and then draft them line for line on paper...Which takes forever to complete when trying to illustrate a whole structure...

So now when I look at things like photographs, people, plants and biomorphic shapes, my mind starts to break down what I see into geometric form
(hard edge)... I get my inspiration from the everyday people that I meet, photographs, comic books, magazines and life itself, but I especially love to illustrate the human face because every face is different, unique and has it's own story to tell... When it comes to graffiti writing, I'm able to transform the common everyday letters into a complicated construction of making connections with letters and interlocking arrows (I believe the graffiti term for this is called "wildstyle") and its always cool to see the viewer try to figure out what the letters may spell out... Most of my works are illustrated and painted in metaphor but are real easy to depict (sometimes).
